Process
There was a process when creating zines with developing ideas. What really helped me develop my ideas was the field trip to Dr.Kauffman and Dr.Blanco because that was when I was shown how complicated the study of neuroscience is. However, it showed us that for many topics, there is already research done. All you have to do now is look for the correct sources. In order for the zine to be created, we had to use a template on adobe illustrator. I had used it before once, but other than that I knew nothing. I shadowed my friend Ernesto and got the hang of Adobe Illustrator. I was the one who set up the whole Zine layout. I also put to work my communication skills. Since this project was ho heavily group based, I had to ask constantly for many elements to be done in order for me to do the layout. If I hadn’t communicated, I don’t think I would have finished.
My groups topics were childhood trauma, drug abuse, teens need a social life, medicinal drug abuse, school shooters, and athletes brain health. These topics were a bit distant from each other that we struggled a bit to make connections. However, we were able to overcome and we were able to connect our topics to drug abuse. By centering our main idea to this, we were able to create a solid structure for ourselves.
