We collaborated with MCASD in order to exhibit art pieces that resemble our chosen brain health topics. At first I was a bit intimidated with the idea of having to produce some sort of artwork for artists especially at a museum. The people at the museum were very helpful, especially Luisa. She really helped my group as well as others with producing our products. In humanities we looked at images and art pieces that resemble something. This paved the road for us as it showed that as long there is meaning behind it, then it has a purpose. Art is something visual, it attracts a different crowd. This helps us with being able to advocate for our topic as now there is a new audience.
When we were first coming up with the ideas for our art piece we were looking at a video. We knew we wanted something digital so we first came up with a video. We then realized it was too complicated so we switched to images. I was very committed to these images. I went on a trip to zion over spring break and took images with hopes of showcasing them. I had a lot of images up in our final piece. Our main obstacle however was finding meanings behind our images. We wanted the images to be meaningful and not just an image. So from the 80 we took, only 12 we used. Once we got the 12 images we wanted to represent a teenagers room. That is why we set them up in wires with lights. We thought it added a good touch especially with the borders the images had.
