Tiny House Big Community
Our project was influenced by the Tiny Home Project that the class of 2019 did. Since there are various artists that are homeless in San Diego there is in need a facility where they can stay. This facility is called the Ecovillage, it is still in development with hopes of construction beginning in the year 2019. There are various community spaces that are found necessary and others that are more temporary. Each group in Team 20/20 Vision chose a space. At the beginning of the project no one was expecting the conclusion that has happened. Since it is a very residential facility there needs to be rooms, performance areas, and kitchens. The process of this project started with brainstorming different ideas that we would later present to a resident from Space 4 art, they were told to give you ideas that they found necessary for that space. Soon after we received feedback we took their ideas and started a design in sketchup. Sketchup is an application that lets you do a digital 3-D model. Everyone went through various models until their group settled with one in which they created a floor plan with. The floor plan is to show where objects and areas are located to scale. For example our scale was 1/4" equal 6" in construction. After all of this was done and we got the green light real 3-D models began under development. Soon we also had to learn how to do a Design Proposal, this is a way of showing your client what you are doing through words. If you wish to learn more feel free to check my projects page under 9th grade Humanities. The model was to show our client what it would look like with textures and walls. This model was eventually shown at Space 4 Art along with our Design Presentations.

Reflection For Tiny Homes Big Community
This entire project has been a total adrenaline rush. Never in my life would I of had expected to have an assignment as complex as this. This is what represnts High Tech High. We are project based for a reason, to help commmunities. The whole idea of getting ideas from different areas by taking us to field trips was genius. If had we not gone to the quartyard I think my brain would've had a hard time knowing how to design the Outdoor Kitchen. The brainstorming of ideas in pinterest to back up our minds so we were ready for our interviews for our clients was very well thought out. If we didn't have ideas, we would've been stuck with awkward silence during our interviews. The process of making the design of sketchup was a privalige that I earned in my opinion. When im seeking for careers i want to be designer for automobiles. This gave me a little knowledge that you need to know what you're working with before you start anything. What i struggled on was our groupwork. One of our colleagues was absent for a week which slowed us down. Communication was lacking between all of us. We could've been more efficient if we were more open to ideas and getting told directions. At the end of the day we were able to deliver what was asked from us. Thank you to my peers, and most importantly to my teachers. Ms.Regina and Ms.Britt
